Stormwater Wetland at Fred Fletcher Park

In 2005, Fluvial Solutions completed construction of a one-acre stormwater wetland at the City of Raleigh’s Fred Fletcher Park. The wetland collects stormwater runoff from a 53 acre drainage area located in the Pigeon House Branch watershed, one of Raleigh’s most polluted streams.  A deep forebay was dug to filter out sediment and pollutants before the stormwater flows through a dense cover of wetland plants in the primary wetland cell.
