Bass Lake Stream Channel Improvements

The Bass Lake Stream Channel Improvements project was completed for the Town of Holly Springs in the Spring of 2020. It restored approximately 635 linear feet of channel damaged in Hurricane Matthew. The work included re-aligning and grading the channel, removing channel blockages, installing a series of boulder cascade structures and boulder walls, and stabilizing the spillway by installing over 500 Cubic Yards of gabion baskets.

Additionally, we installed over 2,500 wetland plants and 200 trees and shrubs and reconstructed the adjacent greenway.

All this work was performed while providing a temporary bypass of the base flow from Bass Lake.
